Village Views

Thames Street Looking Right

I am expanding on my small collection of village views...

...so here is a view looking West along Thames Street...

......from outside the baker's at the bottom of the Avenue!
Thames Street Looking Left

...And just to balance it, here is one looking the other way...

...towards Sunbury Island, again from outside the baker's...
...mainly because it was hard to get Jake away from those lovely bakery smells!
Entrance to Sunbury Park

There is a splendid tree at the entrance to Sunbury Park...

...which manages to look imposing even when stripped of its leaves...

...so why wait till the Summer to snap it?
Towards The Avenue

...If you enter the Park and cut across to the North...

...you will reach the Linear Park which runs between Green Street...
...and the Avenue, which this chestnut tree - also bare - stands beside.
TP26 towards French Street

Here is a view of the Linear Park from The Avenue, towards French Street...

...though as you can see, the grass hasn't been cut yet this year...

...still, it does have some very interesting scents, I can tell you!
TP26 towards The Avenue

...And looking back the other way towards the Avenue...

...so the old TP26 or Relief Road once planned to feed traffic to and from from the M25 has found a splendid use...
...you'll notice I'm not in this photo - mainly because I can't be in 2 places at once!
The Avenue Shops

As you can see in this picture of the Avenue parade of shops...

...the combination of the World Cup and the Queen's Jubilee celebrations...

...has resulted in this wild outburst of exuberant flagwaving!
Looking up The Avenue

...And looking back the other way up the Avenue...

...under a spreading chestnut tree...
...one of the many stately trees that give the road its ambience!
