January - A barren sleeping landscape

Wot? Wot? Wot? Wot? Wot?
The end of Christmas -
a pile of old trees
in the car park
This ivy by the entrance
to the park
is the greenest thing around
A carpet of brown leaves
is spread beneath the trees
Wherever you look
the branches are bare
Yet in a few months
this will all be green again!

December - A rather wobbly collection of Carol Singers

Wot? Wot? Wot? Wot? Wot?
A crowd of figures
stand silhoutted
in Thames Street
the carol singers
are gathered around
the sparklimg tree
and join in the singing
with great verve
accompanied by
the Salvation Army Band.
This has become
a super annual event!

September - Work on the Millenium Embroidery Gallery Starts

Wot? Wot? Wot? Wot? Wot?
The workmen set up
the barricades which
conceal the work
and give the panels
a nice coat
of green paint
and behind the boards
the demolition starts
to make room for
the Emroidery Gallery.
The bricks from the wall
are removed stacked and saved.

August - A Stroll through the Walled Garden
