It's been so gloriously hot
that we have been seeking the shady paths
around the park under the trees.
But I love to pretend that the grass
is actually the sea
full of billowing green waves;
for I must confess
that I'm not actually overkeen
on swimming, and rarely go in above my knees.
So here I am surging through
the make-believe briny
and having a whale of a time!
And unlike the salty sea
this grass actually tastes quite nice!
